Formulation and preclinical studies with a trivalent rotavirus P2-VP8 subunit vaccine

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2020
More effective rotavirus vaccines are essential for preventing extensive diarrheal morbidity and mortality in children under five years of age in low-resource regions.

A Template for Implementing Fast Lock-free Trees Using HTM

open access: yes, 2017
Algorithms that use hardware transactional memory (HTM) must provide a software-only fallback path to guarantee progress. The design of the fallback path can have a profound impact on performance.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Directed path graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The concept of a line digraph is generalized to that of a directed path graph. The directed path graph $\overrightarrow P_k(D)$ of a digraph D is obtained by representing the directed paths on k vertices of D by vertices.

On Path Continuity

open access: yesReal Analysis Exchange, 2004
If \(E\) is a system of paths, then the function \(f\) is \(E\)-continuous at \(x\) if there exists a path \(A\in E(x)\) such that \(f\) restricted to \(A\) is continuous at \(x\). A function \(f\) is called \(E\)-continuous if it is \(E\)-continuous at each \(x\).

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Supporting primary health care led preventive screening through community-embedded health access points in Ukraine

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
IntroductionEnsuring timely, affordable access to preventive screening and early detection of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) is essential for resilient primary health care (PHC), yet coverage remains uneven in rural and hard-to-reach communities in ...

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.
