Differentiating PC12 cells to evaluate neurite densities through live-cell imaging

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2023
Summary: Although PC12 cells are a valuable tool in neuroscience research, previously published PC12 cell differentiation techniques fail to consider the variability in differentiation rates between different PC12 cell strains and clonal variants.

Experimental study on the treatment of norepinephrine transporter-overexpressing pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas: a synthetic lethality strategy combining 131I-MIBG with PARP inhibitors

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
IntroductionPheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) are associated with poor prognosis especially in patients with metastatic spread. This study aims to investigate the therapeutic potential of 131I-MIBG and the PARP inhibitor fluzoparib ...

The Adrenal Pheochromocytoma Cell Line PC12 Efficiently Promotes the Regeneration Capability of Adipose Tissue-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Myogenesis: A Particular Approach to Improving Skeletal Muscle Cell Regeneration [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Medical Sciences
Background: Researchers are looking for a way to improve the myogenic differentiation of stem cells. Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), known for their multipotency and regenerative capabilities, have been extensively studied for their therapeutic ...

CMP difference in PC12 cells.

open access: yes, 2022
(a) The fluorescent images of PC12 cells stained with DiBAC4(3). The images were gray-scale images with pseudo color, where the weaker the blue fluorescence, the higher the CMP difference.

Maternally Expressed Gene 3 (MEG3) Enhances PC12 Cell Hypoxia Injury by Targeting MiR-147

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2017
Background/Aims: Cerebral ischemia often leads to breakdown of blood–brain barrier (BBB) and vasogenic edema. It remains to be established whether MEG3 is responsible for the hypoxic damage in neural cells.

Monocrotophos induced apoptosis in PC12 cells: role of xenobiotic metabolizing cytochrome P450s. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Monocrotophos (MCP) is a widely used organophosphate (OP) pesticide. We studied apoptotic changes and their correlation with expression of selected cytochrome P450s (CYPs) in PC12 cells exposed to MCP.

Elevation of gene expression of Btg2, Gadd 153, and antioxidant markers in RONS-induced PC12 cells

open access: yesBeni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, 2020
Background Free radicals generated in the biological system bring about modifications in biological molecules causing damage to their structure and function.

Fatty Acylation of Synaptotagmin in PC12 Cells and Synaptosomes

open access: yesBiochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1996
Synaptotagmin I is localized to synaptic vesicles where it functions in the calcium-triggered release of neurotransmitters. Here we demonstrate that synaptotagmin I covalently incorporated [3H]palmitate after metabolic labelling of PC-12 cells and rat brain synaptosomes.

Heterogeneity of Catecholamine-Containing Vesicles in PC12 Cells

open access: yesBiochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2000
Vesicular catecholamine release has been measured amperometrically from undifferentiated rat PC12 cells using carbon fiber microelectrodes. During superfusion with high K(+) saline, vesicular release was detected from approximately 50% of 200 cells investigated.

Transplantation of Polymer Encapsulated Pc12 Cells: Use of Chitosan as an Immobilization Matrix

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 1993
Polymer capsules were fabricated to encapsulate PC12 cells within a semipermeable and immunoprotective barrier. The inclusion of precipitated chitosan as an immobilization matrix within the polymer capsules increased the survival and physiological ...
