PCAF promotes R-loop resolution via histone acetylation. [PDF]
Abstract R-loops cause genome instability, disrupting normal cellular functions. Histone acetylation, particularly by p300/CBP-associated factor (PCAF), is essential for maintaining genome stability and regulating cellular processes. Understanding how R-loop formation and resolution are regulated is important because dysregulation of ...

Activation of AMPK inhibits cervical cancer growth by hyperacetylation of H3K9 through PCAF [PDF]
Background Dysregulation in histone acetylation, a significant epigenetic alteration closely associated with major pathologies including cancer, promotes tumorigenesis, inactivating tumor-suppressor genes and activating oncogenic pathways.

A recurrent pathogenic BRCA2 truncating variant reveals a role for BRCA2-PCAF complex in modulating NF-κB-driven transcription. [PDF]
Germline monoallelic truncating mutations in BRCA2, a critical mediator of homologous recombination (HR), predispose individuals to breast and ovarian cancer. While tumorigenesis is usually attributed to biallelic inactivation, emerging evidence suggests

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) overproduction has been considered to contribute to inflammatory damage of glomerular mesangial cells (GMCs) in human mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (MsPGN) and its rat model called Thy-1 nephritis (Thy-1N).

Background Fascin is crucial for cancer cell filopodium formation and tumor metastasis, and is functionally regulated by post‐translational modifications. However, whether and how Fascin is regulated by acetylation remains unclear.

The transcriptional co-activator PCAF regulates cdk2 activity [PDF]
Cyclin dependent kinases (cdks) regulate cell cycle progression and transcription. We report here that the transcriptional co-activator PCAF directly interacts with cdk2. This interaction is mainly produced during S and G(2)/M phases of the cell cycle. As a consequence of this association, PCAF inhibits the activity of cyclin/cdk2 complexes.

The Lysine Acetyltransferase PCAF Functionally Interacts with Estrogen Receptor Alpha in the Hippocampus of Gonadally Intact Male-But Not Female-Rats to Enhance Short-Term Memory. [PDF]
Acetylation of histone proteins by histone acetyltransferases (HATs), and the resultant change in gene expression, is a well-established mechanism necessary for long-term memory (LTM) consolidation, which is not required for short-term memory (STM ...
