Decadienoate Ester Concentrations in Pear Cultivars and Seedlings with Bartlett-like Aroma

open access: yesHortScience, 1984
Abstract High levels of decadienoate esters were found in the iso-octane soluble fraction extracted directly from pureed canned fruit of ‘Harvest Queen’, HW-606, ‘Bartlett’, 5 sports of ‘Bartlett’, ‘Surecrop’, and ‘Laxtons Progress’ pear (Pyrus communis L.). These cultivars, with the exception of ‘Surecrop’, had a Bartlett-like aroma.

Lifelong Learning CRF for Supervised Aspect Extraction

open access: yes, 2017
This paper makes a focused contribution to supervised aspect extraction. It shows that if the system has performed aspect extraction from many past domains and retained their results as knowledge, Conditional Random Fields (CRF) can leverage this ...

Influence of Maturity Stage at Harvest on the Fruit Quality and Volatile Organic Compounds of “Legacy” Blueberry

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study systematically maps the dynamic changes in physicochemical properties and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of highbush blueberries across five maturity stages. By identifying key aroma contributors and specific biochemical markers, these findings provide a solid scientific basis for optimizing harvest timing, fresh market distribution, and ...

Pesticide prioritization based on risk and model diet proposals for assessing cumulative exposure to pesticide residues in the Brazilian population through food consumption

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 4, Page 3853-3873, April 2026.
A risk classification of registered pesticides in Brazil was conducted, and the contribution of food to cumulative pesticide exposure was evaluated. Model diets were proposed, based on Brazilian consumption patterns. Abstract BACKGROUND Pesticide residue exposure assessments can be carried out during both the pre‐regulation and post‐regulation phases ...

Addition of terpenoids to pear ester plus acetic acid increases catches of codling moth (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, 2019
AbstractField studies were conducted to evaluate new kairomone blends in combination with pear ester (E,Z)‐2,4‐ethyl decadienoate (PE) and acetic acid (AA) for their attraction of male and female codling moth, Cydia pomonella (L.), in apple, Malus domestica Borkhausen.
