Unveiling a Stable Polysulfide Transport Framework in a Fluorine‐Free Li‐S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work unveils a lithium thiophosphate reaction pathway activated by trigger P2S5 units, which initiate fast self‐assembly and shift the system away from conventional Li‐S reactions. The reversible Li‐P‐S framework delivers stability, safety, and high energy density, while enabling a distinct solid‐liquid hybrid electrochemical mode that provides a ...

Enhancement of developmental defects in the boron‐deficient maize mutant tassel‐less1 by reduced auxin levels

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Background Plant responses to deficiencies of the micronutrient boron are diverse and go beyond the well‐characterized function of boron in cell wall crosslinking. To explain these phenotypic discrepancies, hypotheses about interactions of boron with various phytohormones have been proposed, particularly auxin.

Review of Memristors for In‐Memory Computing and Spiking Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Memristors uniquely enable energy‐efficient, brain‐inspired computing by acting as both memory and synaptic elements. This review highlights their physical mechanisms, integration in crossbar arrays, and role in spiking neural networks. Key challenges, including variability, relaxation, and stochastic switching, are discussed, alongside emerging ...

Boron deficiency responses in maize (Zea mays L.) roots

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Background Boron (B) is an essential micronutrient for plants. Dicot plants respond to insufficient B supply by altering root architecture and root hair growth. How root systems of rather low‐B demanding monocot species such as maize (Zea mays L.) respond to B deficiency in terra has not been experimentally resolved, yet.

The effect of thermal processing on sensory properties, texture attributes, and pectic changes in broccoli

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2015
Broccoli cooked in a convection steam oven at different temperatures and times was evaluated and compared with broccoli boiled in water. Broccoli was subjected to a sensory analysis, and its texture parameters were determined instrumentally.

Functional Interchangeability of Nucleotide Sugar Transporters URGT1 and URGT2 Reveals That urgt1 and urgt2 Cell Wall Chemotypes Depend on Their Spatio-Temporal Expression

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Nucleotide sugar transporters (NSTs) are Golgi-localized proteins that play a role in polysaccharide biosynthesis by transporting substrates (nucleotide sugars) from the cytosol into the Golgi apparatus.

Cell wall arabinan is essential for guard cell function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Stomatal guard cells play a key role in the ability of plants to survive on dry land, because their movements regulate the exchange of gases and water vapor between the external environment and the interior of the plant.
