What to peel, what not to peel?

2018
A peeling mesh

Hernia, 2002
A number of different materials are available for incisional hernia repair. Benefits of the various types are controversial and are partly dependent on the anatomical placement of the mesh. Composite mesh has been introduced to provide tissue ingrowth for strength and a non-adherent side to protect the bowel, these layers being laminated together. This

A peel of onion

Proceedings of the 27th Annual Computer Security Applications Conference, 2011
Onion routing was invented more than fifteen years ago to separate identification from routing in network communication. Since that time there has been much design, analysis, and deployment of onion routing systems. This has been accompanied by much confusion about what these systems do, what security they provide, how they work, who built them, and ...

TOPOLOGICAL PEELING AND APPLICATIONS

International Journal of Computational Geometry & Applications, 2003
We present a new approach, called topological peeling, for traversing a portion AR of the arrangement formed by n lines within a convex region R on the plane. Topological peeling visits the cells of AR in a fashion of propagating a "wave" of a special shape (called a double-wriggle curve) starting at a single source point.

Peeling Tapes

2006
Two basic peeling problems formulated by Ericksen (1991) are studied, both in statics and in dynamics. While equilibrium is treated variationally, the evolution of the tape tip is modeled as the result of a configurational force balance.
