Aryl‐ and Silyl‐Substituted Silyliumylidene Ions in the Hydrosilylation of CO2

NHC‐stabilized, aryl‐ and silyl‐substituted silyliumylidene ions act as a pre‐catalyst in the hydrosilylation of CO2 with diphenylsilane at room temperature, achieving full conversion with only 5 mol%. The reactivity and selectivity depend on the substituents’ electronic and steric properties.

A metallosupramolecular trifold knot has been prepared from three bisimidazole ligands and three dinuclear half‐sandwich metal complexes. The topology of the trifold knot enforces strong π⋅⋅⋅π interactions between the building blocks, which results in near‐infrared (NIR) light absorption.
