Synthesis of Enantioenriched α-Chiral Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes.
Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes (BCPs), useful surrogates for para-substituted arenes, alkynes, and tert-butyl groups in medicinal chemistry, are challenging to prepare when featuring stereogenic centers adjacent to the BCP.

The First Enantioselective Organocatalytic Mukaiyama−Michael Reaction: A Direct Method for the Synthesis of Enantioenriched γ-Butenolide Architecture [PDF]
The first enantioselective organocatalytic Mukaiyama−Michael reaction using α,β-unsaturated aldehydes has been accomplished. The use of iminium catalysis has provided a new strategy for the enantioselective addition of 2-silyloxy furans to unsaturated ...

A modular synthetic approach enables the preparation of azulene‐fused heterocycles via nucleophilic aromatic substitution followed by intramolecular cyclization of alkynyl fluoroazulenes. The method allows the incorporation of various heteroatoms (N, O, S, Se, and Te), leading to structurally diverse heteroannulated azulenes.

Anomeric Amides: Valuable Reagents in Synthetic Organic Chemistry. [PDF]
Enabling late‐stage transformations and skeletal editing, anomeric amides have recently emerged as powerful synthetic tools. Due to their unique properties, anomeric amides have been employed in reactions ranging from amination to halogenation. This minireview provides an overview of recent progress in using anomeric amides across a variety of ...

Redox‐Dependent Luminescence in a Pentavalent Uranyl Complex
Redox‐dependent luminescence in a molecular pentavalent uranyl complex supported by a pyridine dipyrrolide pincer ligand is presented. Electrochemical and chemical reduction of the uranyl(VI) species provides a stable uranyl(V) complex that emits blue light from a high‐energy excited state. The anti‐Kasha emission is credited to the presence of “nested”

Nickel complexes showing reversible vapochromic and spin crossover behaviors upon coordination and release of NH3 were synthesized. They bear bidentate pyridazine ligands, which allows for formation of hydrogen bonds between NH3 and the ligand in the second coordination sphere.

Establishing Indium in Frustrated Lewis Pair Chemistry: From Synthesis to Catalytic Applications
Not that hard: The effects of chemical hardness of the soft FLP tBu2InCH2PtBu2 and its pyridine‐adduct tBu2In(py)CH2PtBu2 were examined in adduct formation reactions toward H2, CO2, and CS2. The frustrated Lewis pair shows catalytic activity in the reduction of CO2 with pinacolborane.
