Aphids pose a serious risk to horticultural crops. Current biocontrol strategies often fail due to the poor establishment of natural enemies when aphids are scarce. The mutualism between Tapinoma ibericum ants and Aphis gossypii disrupts the biological control exerted by Aphidius colemani in greenhouse peppers. Ant exclusion increased parasitism and the presence of most natural enemies, although Aphidoletes aphidimyza was more abundant with ants.
