Identification of Tomato yellow leaf curl virus, Pepper huasteco yellow vein virus and Pepper golden mosaic virus associated with pepper diseases in northern Mexico

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Plant Pathology, 2019
New diseases in pepper plantations were discovered in La Comarca Lagunera (CL) region in September 2014, the severity of which increased by October 2016. Pepper plants exhibited mild and severe yellow leaf mosaic, deformation, stunting and chlorotic leaves.

Differential Biochemical Responses of Resistant and Susceptible Genotypes of Chili to Pepper Yellow Leaf Curl Thailand Virus

open access: yesHorticulturae
Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) production is threatened by the pepper yellow leaf curl virus (PepLCV), transmitted by whiteflies, leading to reduced yields. This study investigated the biochemical changes in two chili genotypes, PEP6 (tolerant to PepLCV) and

Construction and Biological Characterization of Papaya Leaf Curl Guangdong Virus Infectious cDNA Clone. [PDF]

open access: yesMicrob Biotechnol
Viral diseases are important diseases on cash crops such as passion fruit, among which PaLCuGDV is one of the more severe in recent years. We constructed an infectious clone of PaLCuGDV for the first time and confirmed its infectivity through biological assays.

Insights Into Virus-Encoded RNA Silencing Suppressors Across Viral Families: A Focus on Viruses Infecting Solanaceae Crops. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysiol Plant
ABSTRACT Viral suppressors of RNA silencing (VSRs) are proteins that interfere with antiviral defense mechanisms and enhance infection. For plant viruses, VSRs can be encoded in viral genomes and satellite molecules and play an important role in the virus's life cycle and in overcoming host defenses.
