Pepsinogen release from isolated gastric glands
The in vitro release of pepsinogen was studied using a preparation of isolated gastric glands from rabbits. The pepsinogen content of the glands was estimated to be about 700 U/mg dry wt. Spontaneous release of pepsinogen was found to be less than 1% of

Abstract Background Phenylbutazone (PBZ) can potentially induce gastrointestinal ulceration, and early detection of PBZ‐induced gastroenteropathy will be useful for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of PBZ toxicity. Objectives To identify putative proteins associated with equine gastric ulcer syndrome after clinical dose (4.4 mg/kg ...

Acetylation of Pepsin and Pepsinogen
Abstract 1. Acetylimidazole, an acetylating reagent of proteins reacts both with the proteolytic enzyme, pepsin, and its zymogen, pepsinogen. 2. When reacted with pepsin, the proteolytic activity decreases whereas the hydrolysis of the synthetic substrate, N-acetyl-dl-phenylalanyldiiodotyrosine, increases 2.5-fold.

A Study on Serum Pepsinogen I and Pepsinogen II levels and the Pepsinogen I/II ratio in Indian patients with Gastric Cancer [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to measure the serum pepsinogen I and II levels in gastric cancer patients at a tertiary care centre in South India and to study the serum pepsinogen I/II ratio in patients with gastric cancer.

EFFECT OF HISTAMINE ON GASTRIC PEPSINOGEN, PEPSIN SECRETION, AND BLOOD PEPSINOGEN IN GUINEA PIGS
The endocrine and exocrine activity of guinea pig stomach was measured by the determination of pepsinogen in gastric tissue and in plasma. Gastric juice pepsin was also studied.A significant increase of both pepsinogen and pepsin was found in animals ...

Regulation of pepsinogen release from canine chief cells in primary monolayer culture
To study the regulation of pepsinogen secretion by chief cells, we have developed techniques for the isolation, enrichment, and short-term culture of chief cells from canine stomach.

Helicobacter pylori stimulates pepsinogen secretion from isolated human peptic cells.
Background: Different acid and peptic related gastroduodenal diseases are associated with both increased gastric secretion and Helicobacter pylori infection.
