Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Serum neuropeptide Y and peptide YY levels in response to ingestion of germinated brown rice in healthy adults

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food, 2023
This study aimed to investigate the acute effect of 100 grams of germinated brown rice (GBR) intake on plasma glucose and insulin, serum levels of peptide YY (PYY) and neuropeptide Y (NPY), as well as appetite perception in healthy subjects compared to ...

Modulating Calcium Homeostasis via a Biomimetic Scaffold to Rescue Diabetic Ischemic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This strategy addresses impaired microcirculation and loss of extracellular matrix (ECM) guidance in diabetic wound healing. Musc@CP, a nanofibrous dressing combining an ECM‐mimetic chitosan‐pullulan scaffold with muscone, enhances perfusion by attenuating intracellular Ca2+ overload‐associated endothelial dysfunction.

A dynamic combinatorial library for biomimetic recognition of dipeptides in water

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2020
Small peptides are involved in countless biological processes. Hence selective binding motifs for peptides can be powerful tools for labeling or inhibition.

Aberrant GRP78 Phase Transition Sustains Endothelial IRE1α Signaling and Drives Blood–Brain Barrier Failure in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Vascular Aβ40 corrupts GRP78 phase behavior in brain endothelial cells, sustaining IRE1α–TRAF2–JNK signaling and driving apoptosis, tight junction loss, and blood–brain barrier failure in cerebral amyloid angiopathy. Pharmacological IRE1α inhibition restores vascular integrity, reduces leakage, and improves functional outcomes, revealing a targetable ...

A peptide triple agonist of GLP-1, neuropeptide Y1, and neuropeptide Y2 receptors promotes glycemic control and weight loss

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Mechanisms underlying long-term sustained weight loss and glycemic normalization after obesity surgery include changes in gut hormone levels, including glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and peptide YY (PYY). We demonstrate that two peptide biased agonists (

Effect of branched-chain amino acids on food intake and indicators of hunger and satiety- a narrative summary

open access: yesHuman Nutrition & Metabolism, 2022
Branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) found in protein are most notably known for their ability to increase protein synthesis, explaining their appeal to athletes seeking muscle hypertrophy, expedited recovery, and preservation of lean body mass. In addition

Genetic Ablation and Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveal CEP55 as a Key Driver of Tumorigenesis in Diverse Cancer Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genetic ablation of Cep55 in Pten‐deficient mouse models delays tumorigenesis. Integrated multi‐omics analyses (proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and spatial transcriptomics) reveal that CEP55 regulates oncogenic signaling (RAS/ERK, PI3K/AKT), integrin/FAK‐mediated adhesion, extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, and endocytosis.

Identification of exopolysaccharide produced by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens PFY02 and its potential biological activity and hypoglycemic function

open access: yesJournal of Future Foods
: In this study, a novel exopolysaccharide (EPS) with antioxidant and hypoglycemic function was obtained from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens PFY02, a strain separated from strawberry juice with a high EPS production capacity ((15.32 ± 0.16) g/L).
