Dynamic planar magnetic reconnection solutions for incompressible plasmas [PDF]

The planar magnetic reconnection problem for viscous, resistive plasmas is addressed. We show that solutions can be developed by superposing transient nonlinear disturbances onto quiescent “background” fields.
