Lung Locations Most Affected by Dose-Calculation Algorithms in CyberKnife Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
CyberKnife is a robotic stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) system that precisely delivers large radiation doses to a target. Tissue heterogeneity and shape can be problems.

Cisplatin-lnduced peripheral neurotoxicity is dependent on total-dose intensity and single-dose intensity [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1992
The authors prospectively evaluated the effects of three different schedules of cisplatin (DDP) administration in 60 patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer. The individual total dose of DDP was 450 mg/m2 in all three groups, and the anti-cancer response at the end of treatment was similar for the different regimens.

Discovery and implementation of transcriptional biomarkers of synthetic LXR agonists in peripheral blood cells

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2008
Background LXRs (Liver X Receptor α and β) are nuclear receptors that act as ligand-activated transcription factors. LXR activation causes upregulation of genes involved in reverse cholesterol transport (RCT), including ABCA1 and ABCG1 transporters, in ...

Dose prescription with spatial uncertainty for peripheral lung SBRT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, 2018
AbstractCurrent clinical practice is to prescribe to 95% of the planning target volume (PTV) in 4D stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for lung. Frequently the PTV margin has a very low physical density so that the internal target volume (ITV) receives an unnecessarily high dose. This study investigates the alternative of prescribing to the ITV while

Pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic relationships of FTY720 in kidney transplant recipients

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2005
FTY720 is a new and effective immunosuppressive agent, which produces peripheral blood lymphopenia through a lymphocyte homing effect. We investigated the relationship between the dose of FTY720 or blood concentration (pharmacokinetics, PK) and ...

Pharmacological augmentation of nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) protects against paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy

open access: yeseLife, 2017
Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) arises from collateral damage to peripheral afferent sensory neurons by anticancer pharmacotherapy, leading to debilitating neuropathic pain.

Low Dose-Rate Irradiation of Gamma-Rays-Induced Cytotoxic and Genotoxic Alterations in Peripheral Erythrocytes of p53-Deficient Medaka (Oryzias latipes)

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2021
Morphological alterations and nuclear abnormalities in fish erythrocytes have been used in many studies as bioindicators of environmental mutagens including ionizing radiation.

Feasibility of low dose chest CT for virtual bronchoscopy navigation in a porcine model

open access: yesRespiratory Research, 2019
Background Virtual bronchoscopy navigation (VBN) is widely used for assistance in the histological examination of lung nodules. However, little is known about the optimal CT radiation dose for VBN.

Low-dose peripheral blood stem cell graft after high-dose chemotherapy - an evaluation of hematopoietic reconstitution

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2020
Background High-dose (HD) chemotherapy followed by autologous blood stem-cell transplantation (ASCT) is the standard treatment for multiple myeloma (MM) patients.
