E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Sensitivity analysis of permeability parameters of bovine nucleus pulposus obtained through inverse fitting of the nonlinear biphasic equation : effect of sampling strategy

open access: yes, 2012
Permeability controls the fluid flow into and out of soft tissue, and plays an important role in maintaining the health status of such tissue. Accurate determination of the parameters that define permeability is important for the interpretation of models

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Research and test for shut-in after fracturing of volume fracturing technology in Sulige low pressure tight gas

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2022
Shut-in after fracturing has become an important supporting technology for volume fracturing in unconventional oil and gas wells, which is helpful for gas and water imbibition replacement to increase single well production.

Permeability of bituminous coal to CH4 and CO2 under fixed volume and stress boundary conditions: Effects of sorption

open access: yes, 2022
We report permeability data of a cylindrical sample of high volatile bituminous coal (25mm in diameter) with a clearly visible cleat system, to CH4 and CO2, performed under (near) fixed volume versus fixed stress conditions.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Numerical Simulation of Performance Analysis and Parameter Optimization for a High-Gas-Fraction Twin-Screw Multiphase Pump

open access: yesModelling
A twin-screw multiphase pump is essential equipment for the transfer of gas-liquid multiphase mixtures in oil and gas operations. This work addresses rotor deformation in real applications by correcting the rotor profile using the arc transition approach,

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Characterization of the human colon carcinoma cell line (Caco-2) as a model system for intestinal epithelial permeability.

open access: yesGastroenterology, 1989
Caco-2 cells develop morphologic characteristics of normal enterocytes when grown on plastic dishes or nitrocellulose filters. The purpose of this study was to determine whether Caco-2 cells undergo similar differentiation when grown on Transwell ...

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...
