The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Sequestration of Muscarinic Cholinergic Receptors in Permeabilized Neuroblastoma Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The feasibility of using a permeabilized preparation of human SH-SY-5Y neuroblastoma cells for studies of muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) sequestration has been evaluated. Exposure of cells permeabilized with digitonin, streptolysin-O, or the Α-

Annexin A6 mediates calcium-dependent exosome secretion during plasma membrane repair

open access: yeseLife, 2023
Exosomes are an extracellular vesicle (EV) subtype that is secreted upon the fusion of multivesicular bodies (MVBs) with the plasma membrane. Exosomes may participate in intercellular communication and have utility as disease biomarkers; however, little ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Identification of α2 AR and REEP expression in permeabilized and non-permeabilized cells.

open access: yes, 2013
HEK293A cells were transfected with HA-α2A AR, HA-α2C AR, Flag-REEP1, Flag-REEP2, or Flag–REEP6 cDNA. Forty-eight hrs post-transfections, cells were fixed with 4% PFA, under permeabilized and non-permeabilized conditions, and examined by wide field ...

Nuclear cross-reactivity of the mouse anti-FLAG antibody is only seen in permeabilized cells.

open access: yes, 2021
Nuclear cross-reactivity of the mouse anti-FLAG antibody was not seen in non-permeabilized cells, supporting that the sample preparation steps did not inadvertently permeabilize samples, and further supporting the surface staining patterns seen in non ...

Protocol to study internalization and localization dynamics of exogenously added proteins in detergent-permeabilized human cells

open access: yesSTAR Protocols
Summary: Cell-permeabilization and resealing assays are essential tools for studying the localization and functional roles of exogenous factors in detergent-permeabilized cells.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Glucocorticoids rapidly inhibit oxytocin-stimulated adrenocorticotropin release from rat anterior pituitary cells, without modifying intracellular calcium transients [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Glucocorticoid hormones suppress the secretion of ACTH evoked by secretagogues such as CRF and arginine vasopressin. In this study, we investigated the effects of glucocorticoids on ACTH release induced by oxytocin (OT) and on intracellular free calcium ...
