Convective injection and photochemical decay of peroxides in the tropical upper troposphere: Methyl iodide as a tracer of marine convection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The convective injection and subsequent fate of the peroxides H2O2 and CH3OOH in the upper troposphere is investigated using aircraft observations from the NASA Pacific Exploratory Mission-Tropics A (PEM-Tropics A) over the South Pacific up to 12 km ...

Effect of different bleaching protocols on the color and translucency parameters of a new monochromatic universal composite resin [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Dental Research, Dental Clinics, Dental Prospects
Background. Considering the few studies on the effect of bleaching protocols on the color properties of a newly developed monochromatic universal composite resin, the present study evaluated the effect of different bleaching protocols on the color change

Thermochemiluminescent peroxide crystals [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
AbstractChemiluminescence, a process of transduction of energy stored within chemical bonds of ground-state reactants into light via high-energy excited intermediates, is known in solution, but has remained undetected in macroscopic crystalline solids. By detecting thermally induced chemiluminescence from centimeter-size crystals of an organic peroxide

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

A Recyclable Polypropylene Multilayer Film Maintaining the Quality and the Aroma of Coffee Pods during Their Shelf Life

open access: yesMolecules
Films for coffee-pod packaging usually contain aluminium as an impermeable foil that is not recyclable and has to be discharged as waste. In this study, a recyclable polypropylene multilayer film is proposed as an alternative.

Selection of elastomeric membranes for the removal of volatile organics from water [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A wide range of homogeneous elastomeric membranes has been prepared using dicumylperoxide as a general cross-linking agent. The membranes have been used for both equilibrium sorption measurements and steady-state pervaporation experiments to study ...

Benzoyl peroxide

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 1980
The mode of action of benzoyl peroxide in acne is three-fold, i.e. sebostatic, comedolytic and inhibitory to P. acnes in-vivo. Benzoyl peroxide is the topical treatment of choice in acne vulgaris. This agent is well tolerated by most patients. Primary irritant dermatitis can be avoided by less frequent application and the true incidence of contact ...
