Melatonin-Nrf2 Signaling Activates Peroxisomal Activities in Porcine Cumulus Cell-Oocyte Complexes
Melatonin and Nrf2 signaling synergistically improve mammalian oocyte maturation and embryonic development. Furthermore, previous studies have suggested an interplay between peroxisomes and Nrf2 signaling in cells, but it is still unclear whether ...

A neutrophil‐mediated dual‐targeting liposome (NKN‐LNP) is developed to treat renal ischemia–reperfusion injury. The system enables spatiotemporally controlled delivery of NMN to injured tubules via MMP‐2/9 activation and KIM1 recognition, restoring mitochondrial function through NAD+‐SIRT3 signaling and preventing the transition from acute kidney ...

Abstract Background and Aims Peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor α (PPARα) regulates fatty acid transport and catabolism in liver. However, the role of intestinal PPARα in lipid homeostasis is largely unknown. Here, intestinal PPARα was examined for its modulation of obesity and NASH. Approach and Results Intestinal PPARα was activated and fatty

Improved light extraction in the bioluminescent lantern of a Photuris firefly (Lampyridae)
A common problem of light sources emitting from an homogeneous high-refractive index medium into air is the loss of photons by total internal reflection. Bioluminescent organisms, as well as artificial devices, have to face this problem.

Kinetische Untersuchungen und Modellstudien zur Funktion essentieller Reste im aktiven Zentrum der L-Asparaginase II aus E. coli [PDF]
Peroxisomes are compartments in cells called organelles that perform many different functions. In humans, peroxisomal defects result in serious disorders, leading to early death.

We demonstrate that Cars2, a cysteine catabolic enzyme in mouse iBAT, is critical for cold tolerance and brown adipocyte differentiation. Through its CPERS activity, Cars2 produces CysSSH/H2S to induce EBF2 persulfidation, promoting its interaction with PPARγ and BRG1 to enhance thermogenic gene expression.

NAFLD‐related hepatocellular carcinoma: The growing challenge
Risk and protective factors for NAFLD‐related hepatocellular carcinoma Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common cause of cancer‐related mortality and morbidity worldwide. With the obesity pandemic, NAFLD‐related HCC is contributing to the burden of disease exponentially.

Recent Trends in Metabolomics by NMR Spectroscopy
AI tools were applied to analyze more than 5 000 publications indexed in Scopus (2018–2025), identifying key trends and research directions in NMR‐based metabolomics. The artificial intelligence‐assisted workflow classified papers into six main fields of application, human health, food and nutrition, veterinary science, plants, environment, and ...

Altered chemomechanical coupling causes impaired motility of the kinesin-4 motors KIF27 and KIF7. [PDF]
Kinesin-4 motors play important roles in cell division, microtubule organization, and signaling. Understanding how motors perform their functions requires an understanding of their mechanochemical and motility properties.
