PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Computing persistent homology

open access: yes, 2008
We show that the persistent homology of a filtered d-dimensional simplicial complex is simply the standard homology of a particular graded module over a polynomial ring.

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Computing Persistent Homology Modules

open access: yes, 2015
Computational topology uses persistence to distinguish noise from data. Computing persistent homology modules for simplicial complexes built out of point cloud data helps to determine the ``shape'' of data.

Self‐Assembling Hybrid Hydrogel Reprograms the Stromal Vascular Fraction to Treat Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioinspired injectable hydrogel that enhances the therapeutic potential of stem cell‐rich stromal vascular fraction for treating osteoarthritis. By reprogramming cell behavior through epigenetic modulation, the hydrogel promotes cartilage regeneration and reduces joint damage in a rat model, offering a promising new approach for ...

Persistent Mayer homology and persistent Mayer Laplacian

open access: yesFoundations of Data Science
In algebraic topology, the differential (i.e., boundary operator) typically satisfies $d^{2}=0$. However, the generalized differential $d^{N}=0$ for an integer $N\geq 2$ has been studied in terms of Mayer homology on $N$-chain complexes for more than eighty years. We introduce Mayer Laplacians on $N$-chain complexes.

Photonic band structure design using persistent homology

open access: yes, 2020
The machine learning technique of persistent homology classifies complex systems or datasets by computing their topological features over a range of characteristic scales. There is growing interest in applying persistent homology to characterize physical

Pholidota‐Inspired Electronic Skin Possessing Terahertz‐Wave Reflection–Absorption–Transmission Switchability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The pholidota‐inspired electronic skin is successfully constructed, originally realized four‐state reversible switching of terahertz‐wave reflection, absorption, transmission, and secondary reflection. In response to external demands, it issues deformation instructions, verifies the deformation state after the equipment executes the action, and thus ...
