New PET imaging agents in the management of solid cancers

Current Opinion in Oncology, 2012
(18)F-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose PET-computed tomography (CT) has a major clinical impact in oncology not only for diagnostics but also for staging, response assessment, and relapse detection. However, several other PET tracers are needed for a more complete molecular characterization of cancers which has great importance in the era of individualized ...

55Cobalt complexes with pendant carbohydrates as potential PET imaging agents

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2007
Bis-ligand cobalt(II) complexes of four 3-hydroxy-4-pyridinone ligands with pendant carbohydrates were synthesized and examined for their potential as radiopharmaceuticals. Non-radioactive complexes were prepared on the macroscopic scale and characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, IR and UV/visible spectroscopy.

Microwave Accelerated Synthesis of PET Image Contrast Agents for AD Research

Current Alzheimer Research, 2010
Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) offers the potential to provide early onset diagnosis and subsequent intervention, including guided treatment regimens. One of the restricting factors in clinical application of PET technology is the limited availability of radioligands with affinity to specific targets of interest.

Synthesis, biodistribution and micro-PET imaging of radiolabeled antimitotic agent T138067 analogues

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2004
Radiolabeled antimitotic agents [11C]T138067 and [18F]T138067 have been synthesized for evaluation as new potential positron emission tomography (PET) biomarkers for cancer imaging. In vivo biodistribution and micro-PET imaging of [11C]T138067 were performed in breast cancer animal models MCF-7 transfected with IL-1alpha implanted athymic mice and MDA ...

Site-specific 68Ga-labeled Annexin A5 as a PET imaging agent for apoptosis

Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 2011
Two variants of Annexin A5 (Cys2-AnxA5 and Cys165-AnxA5) were labelled with Gallium-68 in order to evaluate their biological properties.Biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of the radiotracers were studied with μPET in healthy mice and in a mouse model of hepatic apoptosis.

Radiosynthesis of [18F]FPenM-C2Am: A PET Imaging Agent for Detecting Cell Death

2023
Imaging agents capable of detecting the extent, timing, and distribution of tumor cell death following treatment could be used in clinical trials of novel cancer therapies to get an early indication of efficacy and subsequently in the clinic to guide treatment in individual patients.

Abstract 2463: 18F-Talazoparib: A novel potential PET imaging agent of PARP

Cancer Research, 2022
Abstract Background: Poly-(ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs) are an enzyme family that catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose from nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) to an acceptor protein. PARP family members play fundamental roles in single-strand DNA break (SSB) repair, cell signaling of DNA damage and inflammation, cell death, and ...

18F-Labeled BODIPY Dye: A Potential Prosthetic Group for Brain Hybrid PET/Optical Imaging Agents.

ACS Chemical Neuroscience, 2018
There are few hybrid positron emission tomography (PET)/fluorescence imaging agents available for brain imaging. For this purpose, BODIPY dye is very attractive because one of its fluorine atoms can be readily exchanged with 18F, and it can be modified ...

Acyclic Chelate with Ideal Properties for 68Ga PET Imaging Agent Elaboration

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010
We have investigated novel bifunctional chelate alternatives to the aminocarboxylate macrocycles NOTA (N(3)O(3)) or DOTA (N(4)O(4)) for application of radioisotopes of Ga to diagnostic nuclear medicine and have found that the linear N(4)O(2) chelate H(2)dedpa coordinates (67)Ga quantitatively to form [(67)Ga(dedpa)](+) after 10 min at RT. Concentration-

Phosphoramidate-based Peptidomimetic Prostate Cancer PET Imaging Agents

2013
Abstract : The main goal is to develop a PET imaging agent based on modifying the peptidomimetic PSMA inhibitor which will result in improved tumor uptake and clearance mechanism. Different fluorination approaches were attempted with PSMA module compounds such as direct labeling, cupper free chemistry and the use of prosthetic group (SFB).
