An adaptive gain phase‐locked loop for position sensorless control of permanent magnet synchronous motor drives

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
In view of the cost and reliability issues caused by mechanical position sensors, position sensorless control (PSC) of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) has received widespread attention. A series of rotor position estimation (RPE) schemes have

Towards practical oscillation detection in wind farms: Comparative study of AI models, novel metrics, and edge implementations

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Economics, Volume 7, Issue 3, Page 163-179, June 2026.
Abstract Fast oscillations observed in wind farms and other renewable energy systems interfaced with power grids must be addressed promptly to prevent devastating shutdown and damage. Existing approaches mainly target high‐magnitude oscillations using data‐intensive convolutional neural networks (CNNs), leading to delayed detection and overlooking mild

DC Side Impedance Modelling of an Actual Line Commutated Converter High Voltage Direct Current System and DC Resonance Characteristics

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 11, Issue 3, Page 725-737, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The stability analysis of Line Commutated Converter High Voltage Direct Current (LCC‐HVDC) is of considerable engineering importance. Establishing its analytical mathematical model helps to analyse stability and the factors that affect stability of the system.

Series Connection of LCC and Full Bridge MMC With DC Fault Ride‐Through Capability for Lightweight HVDC Transmission

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
In this work, we investigate a lightweight HVDC converter topology that combines the strengths of line‐commutated converters (LCC) and full‐bridge modular multilevel converters (MMC) to address the high cost and large footprint of conventional HVDC stations.

A 2.4-GHz Type-I Reference-Sampling Injection-Locked PLL With an RSPD-Based Injection Timing Calibration Loop

open access: yesIEEE Access
A type-I reference-sampling injection-locked phase-locked loop (RS-ILPLL) for low-jitter clock generation is presented. For the first time, the proposed architecture integrates a reference-sampling PLL (RSPLL) with an injection-locked PLL (IL-PLL ...

Mechanism and Control Analysis of Synchronous Frequency Resonance in Distributed Power Generation System Connected to Grid

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 4, Page 2263-2276, April 2026.
Small‐signal modeling reveals that insufficient system damping positions conjugate poles near the imaginary axis, fundamentally explaining the SFR mechanism. A virtual resistance control is consequently proposed to damp the resonance and effectively suppress SFR, which is validated through Hardware‐in‐the‐Loop experiments.

A fast three-phase synchronization technique with parallel structure

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2020
For many grid-connected equipment, the phase and frequency of grid voltage are crucial synchronization information. A phase-locked loop (PLL) is usually employed to obtain the information.
