Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Investigation of the Fork–Join System with Markovian Arrival Process Arrivals and Phase-Type Service Time Distribution Using Machine Learning Methods

open access: yesMathematics
This paper presents a study of fork–join systems. The fork–join system breaks down each customer into numerous tasks and processes them on separate servers. Once all tasks are finished, the customer is considered completed.

Analysis of an MMAP/PH1, PH2/N/∞ queueing system operating in a random environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2014
A multi-server queueing system with two types of customers and an infinite buffer operating in a random environment as a model of a contact center is investigated. The arrival flow of customers is described by a marked Markovian arrival process.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Performance Forecasting for Multi-Server Retrial Queue with Possibility of Processing Repetition and Server Reservation for Repeating Users

open access: yesStats
This study focuses on forecasting and optimizing the performance of a real-world object modelled by a multi-server queueing system that processes two types of users: primary (new) users and repeating users.

Three-Phase Line Modeling for Unbalance Distribution Power Flow Using Forward-Backward Propagation Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes
A direct modeling for three-phase distribution line is employed for unbalance power flow calculation. The effectiveness of the model is demonstrated by the needless of decoupling the system into symmetrical components or individual phases.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Phase-Tagged Fluctuation Analysis of Cumulative Shock Reliability Systems with Phase-Type Inter-Shock Times

open access: yesMathematics
We develop a closed-form analysis of the joint distribution for cumulative shock reliability systems with phase-type inter-shock times. The analytical literature on shock-driven reliability has hitherto been split into two largely separate traditions ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Two phase flow distribution in parallel flow heat exchangers -- experimentally verified model

open access: yes, 2011
Maldistribution of refrigerant is a problem in parallel microchannel heat exchangers that lowers their potential effectiveness, especially when controlled by superheat.
