Reusable Biosensor Based on Differential Phase Detection at the Point of Darkness

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, 2021
A differential phase sensor based on a narrowband perfect absorber uses the phase singularity at the point of darkness (100% absorption). Herein, a structure with a top SiO2 layer is proposed that is index matched with a glass flow cell that shows the ...

Complex charge density waves at Van Hove singularity on hexagonal lattices: Haldane-model phase diagram and potential realization in the kagome metals AV3Sb5 ( A =K, Rb, Cs) [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical review B, 2021
We analyze how the real and imaginary charge density waves interplay at the Van Hove singularity on the hexagonal lattices. A phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau analysis indicates the formation of complex orders at all three momenta under a total phase ...

Robust three-dimensional best-path phase-unwrapping algorithm that avoids singularity loops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we propose a novel hybrid three-dimensional phase-unwrapping algorithm, which we refer to here as the three-dimensional best-path avoiding singularity loops (3DBPASL) algorithm.

On phases of generic toric singularities [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2007
We systematically study the phases of generic toric singularities, using methods initiated in hep-th/0612046. These correspond to Gauged Linear Sigma Models with arbitrary charges. We show that complete information about generic $U(1)^r$ GLSMs can be obtained by studying the GLSM Lagrangian, appropriately modified in the different phases of the theory.

Rotor Localization and Phase Mapping of Cardiac Excitation Waves Using Deep Neural Networks

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
The analysis of electrical impulse phenomena in cardiac muscle tissue is important for the diagnosis of heart rhythm disorders and other cardiac pathophysiology. Cardiac mapping techniques acquire local temporal measurements and combine them to visualize

Spiral phase plate with multiple singularity centers

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2020
We investigate a multispiral phase plate (MSPP) with multiple centers of phase singularity arbitrarily located in the MSPP plane. Equations to describe the topological charge of an optical vortex in the initial plane immediately behind the MSPP and ...

Singularities and gauge theory phases [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, 2015
Motivated by M-theory compactification on elliptic Calabi-Yau threefolds, we present a correspondence between networks of small resolutions for singular elliptic fibrations and Coulomb branches of five-dimensional N=1 gauge theories. While resolutions correspond to subchambers of the Coulomb branch, partial resolutions correspond to higher codimension ...

Spatial concentration and distribution of phase singularities in human atrial fibrillation: Insights for the AF mechanism

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2021
Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) is characterized by the repetitive regeneration of unstable rotational events, the pivot of which are known as phase singularities (PSs).

Acoustic pressure, scalar field, and phase singularity

open access: yes, 2023
We propose that the acoustic pressure could be treated as a scalar field. We investigate the properties of the acoustic pressure field which give rise to the phase singularity.

Sharp focusing of a light field with polarization and phase singularities of an arbitrary order [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2019
Using the Richards-Wolf formalism, we obtain general expressions for all components of the electric and magnetic strength vectors near the sharp focus of an optical vortex with the topological charge m and nth-order azimuthal polarization.
