Tissue Cultures of Phaseolus vulgaris L.

Giornale botanico italiano, 1996
Abstract Callus production and plant regeneration from different explants of Phaseolus vulgaris L. cv. Giza are reported. Calli cultures were induced from leaf, hypocotyl, embryo and root explants. Rapid growth of callus was achieved by leaf explants cultured on MS salts, B5 vitamins and supplemented with 2,4— dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4—D)+0.5 mg/

Since then much work has been published on their effects on mammalian cells but little is known of their role in the plants from which they are derived.
