Feeling blue to seeing red: A case of escitalopram-induced epistaxis. [PDF]
Key Clinical Message Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are associated with an increased risk of bleeding, most commonly intracranial and gastric bleeding, especially in conjunction with anticoagulant use. Although uncommon, escitalopram is associated with epistaxis in a dose‐dependent manner. Dosage reduction may be sufficient in management.

The evaluation of isatin analogues as inhibitors of monoamine oxidase
Isatin is a reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase (MAO). This study investigated the SARs of MAO inhibition by isatin analogues and discovered five compounds with IC50 < 1 μM. 4‐Chloroisatin and 5‐bromoisatin were the most potent inhibitors of MAO‐A and MAO‐B, respectively.
