Construction of a High-Density Genetic Map Based on SLAF Markers and QTL Analysis of Leaf Size in Rice

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Leaf shape is an important agronomic trait for constructing an ideal plant type in rice, and high-density genetic map is facilitative in improving accuracy and efficiency for quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis of leaf trait.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Transgenerational Plasticity and Bet-Hedging: A Framework for Reaction Norm Evolution

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2020
Decision-making under uncertain conditions favors bet-hedging (avoidance of fitness variance), whereas predictable environments favor phenotypic plasticity.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Differences in phenotypic variance between old and young congeneric species on a small island

open access: yes, 2023

Aim: Insular environments theoretically promote within-species phenotypic variance, in part but not only because insular species enjoy a lower number of trophic interactions than their mainland counterparts.

Genetic Variability and Correlation Studies in elite ‘B’ and ‘R’ lines in Kharif Sorghum [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2010
The genetic variability and nature of character association was studied in 20 B lines and 16 R lines of kharif sorghum(sorghum bicolor (L) Moench). The genotypic variance was lower than the phenotypic variance for all the characters.High genotypic and ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Non-chromosomal information enhances the fraction of phenotypic variance explained.

open access: yes, 2015
Three linear models with different complexity are applied to measure the fraction of phenotypic variance. The first model (simple) includes only the gene deletion status (red), the second model (additive) considers the gene deletion status and non ...
