Tackling cancer stemness with nanotechnology in the era of precision medicine

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Precise customization of nanoparticles (NPs) enables active targeting of cancer stem cells (CSCs), thereby improving drug delivery and therapeutic efficacy. NP‐based probing enhances CSC detection through imaging and liquid biopsy, whereas diverse therapeutic payloads improve therapeutic outcomes.

Adaptive Genomic Divergence Across Altitudes in Capsella bursa‐pastoris

open access: yesBiological Diversity, EarlyView.
Genomic divergence was observed between high‐altitude and low‐altitude populations of Capsella bursa‐pastoris in China, consistent with an important role of ecological factors. Candidate adaptive loci associated with enhanced energy metabolism, photoprotection, and growth plasticity under altitudinal stress were identified.

Unexpected Dual Function of Plant YUCCA Enzymes Links Chlorophyll Catabolism to Auxin Homeostasis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 9, 23 February 2026.
YUCCA enzymes are well known to catalyze the main step of auxin biosynthesis in plants. Here, a hitherto undescribed dual function was discovered, revealing that some YUCCAs also act in chlorophyll degradation. In vitro feedback regulation furthermore suggests a link between chlorophyll degradation and hormone homeostasis and a physiological role of ...

PheophorbideaContent and Chlorophyllase Activity in Green Tea [PDF]

open access: yesBioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 1998
We investigated the total content of pheophorbide a (PB a), which is sum of the contents of newly produced PB a, including PB a initially present and that converted from chlorophyllide a (Chd a) by the chlorophyllase reaction during incubation, in green tea samples, and found that the total content of PB a markedly increased in both Sencha and Matcha ...

Optimising the Eco‐Friendly Extraction of Carotenoids From Gac Fruit: A Sustainable Solution for Natural Red Food Colourants

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Gac fruit's high carotenoid content, especially in the aril, makes it an excellent natural red pigment source for food applications, offering a safer alternative to synthetic dyes. Ethanol extraction achieved the highest overall pigment recovery (89.53%), whereas ethyl lactate extraction yielded the highest levels of total carotenoids, β‐carotene ...

Cyanopeptide Mixtures Induce Variable Synergistic and Antagonistic Effects Across Diverse Human Cell Lines

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms (cyanoHABs) threaten human, animal, and ecosystem health and safety through production of toxic secondary metabolites. Microcystis, a cosmopolitan bloom‐forming cyanobacterial genus, is well‐known for producing hepatotoxic microcystins (MCs), but it can produce many other bioactive cyanopeptides, such as ...

ISOLATION AND STRUCTURE DETERMINE OF SOME COMPOUNDS FROM THE METHANOL EXTRACT OF Enhalus acoroides COLLECTED IN VIETNAM

open access: yesTạp chí Khoa học
Three compounds were isolated from the methanol extract of the species Enhalus acoroides using a combination of several chromatographic methods. The structural elucidations of those compounds were analysed using ESI-MS and NMR.

Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy in Candida spp. biofilms: In vitro and in vivo protocols

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
This review addresses the critical challenges in translating in vitro antimicrobial photodynamic therapy protocols to in vivo models, with a particular focus on the hurdles of standardization. The vast diversity in photosensitizers and light parameters across different target cells and models requires a rigorous optimization process.
