Multiomics analyses reveal that PRMT5 regulates membrane transport and cholesterol synthesis in white adipocytes

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Prmt5AKO downregulates genes related to fatty acid transport and triacylglycerol synthesis, while upregulating genes involved in glucose transport and cholesterol biogenesis. These changes cause alternation in lipid composition and metabolic phenotypes of Prmt5AKO mice. Abstract The adipose tissue (AT) is a main regulator of systemic energy homeostasis,

Permeability of 16 Straight‐ and Branched‐Chain Parabens Using the Caco‐2 Assay

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The in vitro intestinal permeability of straight‐ and branched‐chain parabens has not been extensively investigated. Sixteen parabens were tested in the Caco‐2 assay. Passive diffusion was measured using PAMPA. The transport of the MCT1 substrate, p‐coumaric acid, as well as propylparaben and isopropylparaben, was investigated.

Fatty acid profiles in blood and tissues of parenteral nutrition–fed neonatal piglets using a novel lipid emulsion containing choline

open access: yesJournal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Background For parenteral nutrition (PN)–dependent neonates, soybean oil intravenous lipid emulsions (SO‐ILEs) and mixed emulsions (SO, medium‐chain triglyceride [MCT], olive oil [OO], and fish oil [FO] ILEs) are likely not providing adequate amounts of key fatty acids (FAs) arachidonic acid (AA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and are devoid ...

The Effect of Synthetic Cow Urine on Microorganisms and Their Potential Phosphorus Mining Activity in Rhizosphere and Bulk Soil

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and aims Soil microbes adapt to varying nutrient inputs by modifying their utilization strategies, with root exudates and animal urine serving as key carbon (C) and nutrient sources in grasslands. Nonetheless, the specific mechanisms by which cow urine and root exudates influence microbial community and resource utilization remain ...

Hydrophobic Drug Delivery into T Cells Using Carboxy‐Terminal Phenylalanine‐Modified Dendrigraft Polylysines

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
In this study, dendrigraft polylysines (DGLs) modified with 1,2‐cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid (CHex) and phenylalanine (Phe) were synthesized using different generations of DGL by reacting with Phe at different ratios for drug delivery to T cells. DGL(G3)‐CHex‐Phe93 was associated with T cells efficiently, retained a model hydrophobic drug, paclitaxel ...
