Analysis of triacylglycerol and phospholipid sn‐positional isomers by liquid chromatographic and mass spectrometric methodologies

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 45, Issue 1, Page 4-36, January/February 2026.
Abstract Analysis of triacylglycerol (TG) and phospholipid sn‐positional isomers can be divided into two main categories: (a) direct separation by chromatography or other means such as ion mobility mass spectrometry and (b) quantification of regioisomer ratios by structurally informative fragment ions with mass spectrometric methods.

Robust Diagnostic and Therapeutic Biomarkers for Tuberculosis Identified Through Multi‐Omics and Mendelian Randomization Analysis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
We performed UPLC‐MS/MS lipidomics and DIA proteomics on plasma from healthy controls, active TB patients, and cured patients, and used Mendelian randomization to prioritize diagnostic and cure biomarkers. Multi‐omics random‐forest models based on these biomarkers showed excellent performance for diagnosis and cure monitoring.

An Integrated Engineering Approach to Creating Health‐Modulating Postbiotics

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 1, January 2026.
Postbiotics have emerged as a promising alternative to live probiotics, offering comparable health benefits while overcoming challenges related to safety, stability, and shelf life. The review addresses current challenges in standardizing postbiotic definitions and production processes, and by outlining future research directions necessary to unlock ...

In Vivo Glx Measurements From GABA‐Edited HERMES at 3 T Are Not Consistent With Those From Short‐TE PRESS Across Scanners, Brain Regions, Diagnostic and Age Groups

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 1, January 2026.
We evaluate the agreement between Glx (Glutamine plus Glutamine) estimates obtained from HERMES GABA‐DIFF (blue) and SUM spectra with Glx derived from short‐TE PRESS (TE = 35ms; green). Data was acquired from 139 participants, across two voxels (ACC and thalamus), three different scanners and multiple age and diagnostic groups (adults/preschoolers and ...

Role of N‐glycosylation as a determinant of ATG9A conformations and activity

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Here, we investigate the effects of glycosylation at position N99 on the structural dynamics and lipid scrambling activity of ATG9A, a key autophagy protein, using microsecond all‐atom molecular dynamics simulations. ATG9A is an integral membrane protein involved in autophagosome biogenesis, and glycosylation at N99 has previously been ...
