Strain‐Activated Photo‐Dehalogenation Unlocks Low‐Energy One and Two‐Photon 3D Microfabrication

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
5,14‐NMI‐Cz acts, conversely to its 7,10‐NMI‐Cz(7,10‐'dibromo‐2‐(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)‐1H‐benzo[lmn]carbazolo[9,1‐bc][2,8]phenanthroline‐1,3(2H)‐dione) counterpart, as modular photoinitiator with panchromatic photoactivity, featuring a weak C–Br bond from geometric strain for efficient Type I & II initiation. These studies demonstrate applicability of

Diversity-oriented synthesis of P-stereogenic and axially chiral monodentate biaryl phosphines enabled by C-P bond cleavage

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Chiral monodentate biaryl phosphines (MOPs) have attracted intense attention as chiral ligands over the past decades. However, the creation of structurally diverse chiral MOPs with both P- and axial chirality is still in high demand but challenging. Here,

Programmable DNA‐Peptide Hybrid Nanostructures for Potent Neutralization of Multiple Influenza a Virus Subtypes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multivalent antiviral platform based on honeycomb‐shaped DNA nanostructures (HC–Urumin) is developed to enhance the potency and breadth of the host defense peptide Urumin. Through spatially patterned trimeric presentation, HC–Urumin disrupts influenza A virus entry, improves cell viability, and reduces disease severity in vivo‐offering a modular and ...

Bridged [2.2.1] bicyclic phosphine oxide facilitates catalytic γ-umpolung addition-Wittig olefination. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A novel bridged [2.2.1] bicyclic phosphine oxide, devised to circumvent the waste generation and burdens of purification that are typical of reactions driven by the generation of phosphine oxides, has been prepared in three steps from commercially ...

Laser‐Based Sculpturing of Embedded Ultrathin Metal‐Oxide Nanopores for Enhanced Biomolecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.
