Antibacterial potential of mono- Ru(II) and bi-metallic Ru(II)-Mn(II) inorganic compounds with phosphino-fluoroquinolone conjugates

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemical Biology
Herein, we present two novel heterobimetallic complexes Ru(II)-Mn(II) (Ru(η6-p-cymene)Cl2PCpMnCl2(H2O)2 (RuPCpMn) and Ru(η6-p-cymene)Cl2PNrMnCl2(H2O)2 (RuPNrMn)) with phosphines (PCp, PNr) derived from fluoroquinolones antibiotics (HCp–ciprofloxacin and ...

Catalytic Wittig and aza-Wittig reactions

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
This review surveys the literature regarding the development of catalytic versions of the Wittig and aza-Wittig reactions. The first section summarizes how arsenic and tellurium-based catalytic Wittig-type reaction systems were developed first due to the

Chemoselective Polymerization of Polar Divinyl Monomers with Rare-Earth/Phosphine Lewis Pairs

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
This work reports the chemoselective polymerization of polar divinyl monomers, including allyl methacrylate (AMA), vinyl methacrylate (VMA), and 4-vinylbenzyl methacrylate (VBMA), by using simple Lewis pairs comprised of homoleptic rare-earth (RE ...

Coordination chemistry with phosphine and phosphine oxide-substituted hydroxyferrocenes

open access: yesDalton Transactions, 2010
New unsymmetrical hydroxyferrocenes were synthesised from dibromoferrocene. The oxygen heteroatom was introduced via lithiation and quenching with bis-trimethylsilylperoxide followed by hydrolysis to unmask the hydroxyl functionality. The coordination chemistry of 1'-(diphenylphosphino)-1-hydroxyferrocene 2 was explored with palladium and rhodium ...

Synthesis and Coordination Behavior of a Flexible Bis(phosphinoferrocene) Ligand

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
A symmetrical flexible bis(phosphinoferrocene) derivative, viz. bis[1′-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenyl]methane (1), was prepared and studied as a ligand in Pd(II) and Au(I) complexes.

Rewriting Polymer Fate via Chemomechanical Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a life‐like “living” polymer platform that can grow, degrow, and reprogram its properties after fabrication. By integrating mass transport, reversible polymerization, and controlled catalysis, the material achieves on‐demand changes in size, shape, and mechanical properties.

3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce a biocompatible, high resolution photopolymer resin that closely mimics the Young's Modulus (elasticity) and reversible stretchability (no hysteresis) of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), enabling the fabrication of microfluidic transistors (i.e., microvalves capable of proportional amplification) by multimaterial stereolithography (mSLA ...

Nitroxide‐Mediated Photo‐Polymerization: A Swiss Army Knife for Microfluidic Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This article illustrates the application of NMP2 to the rapid (less than 1 h) photostructuring and sealing of model structures intended for microfluidic applications. Remarkably, the careful design of resin composition allows completing these steps by simply spreading bare monomer (i.e., no added photoinitiator) on top of the bottom layer embedding ...

Interactions of Antibody Drug Conjugate Anti‐Tubulin and Topoisomerase I Inhibitor Payloads with Radiotherapy to Potentiate Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody drug conjugates deliver their cytotoxic anti‐tubulin or topoisomerase I inhibitor payloads to tumors through cancer cell receptor targeting. The released drug payloads induce cellular changes that interact with radiotherapy resulting in radiosensitization that improves cancer cell kill and stimulates anti‐tumor immune responses.
