Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Dalitz plot analysis of the decay B-0((B)over-bar(0))-> K-+/-pi(-/+)pi(0)

open access: yes, 2008
We report a Dalitz-plot analysis of the charmless hadronic decays of neutral B mesons to K-+/- pi(-/+) pi(0) With a sample of (231.8 +/- 2.6) x 10(6)Y(4S) -> B (B) over bar B decays collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B ...

The “ $$B\rightarrow K\pi $$ B → K π puzzle”: a new perspective

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
A phenomenological analysis based on the published branching fractions and CP asymmetry observables of the $$B\rightarrow K\pi $$ B → K π , $$B\rightarrow \pi \pi $$ B → π π and $$B\rightarrow KK$$ B → K K dataset is performed.

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

For at vi skal nå nullutslippsambisjonene, må de viktigste aktørene jobbe tettere sammen. Dette er fordi ulike virkemidler må settes inn i kombinasjon for å nå de høye målsetningene som de norske bykommunene har satt seg.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Measurement of $B^0$ decays to $\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$

open access: yes, 2001
We present preliminary results of searches for exclusive $B^0$ decays to $\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ among 22.7 million $b\overline{b}$ pairs collected by the BABAR experiment from electron-positron collisions near the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance. We measure $\cal{B}(
