Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

The “ $$B\rightarrow K\pi $$ B → K π puzzle”: a new perspective

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
A phenomenological analysis based on the published branching fractions and CP asymmetry observables of the $$B\rightarrow K\pi $$ B → K π , $$B\rightarrow \pi \pi $$ B → π π and $$B\rightarrow KK$$ B → K K dataset is performed.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Measurement of the ratio of branching fractions B(B(+/-) -> J/psi pi(+/-))/B(B(+/-) -> J/psi K(+/-)

open access: yes, 2009
We report a measurement of the ratio of branching fractions of the decays B(+/-) -> J/psi pi(+/-) and B(+/-) -> J/psi K(+/-) using the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The signal from the Cabbibo-suppressed B(+/-)-> J/psi pi(+/-) decay is separated from B(+/-) -> J/psi K(+/-) using the B(+/-)-> J/psi K(+/-) invariant ...

Measurement of the ratios of branching fractions B (B(s)(0)-> D(s)(-) pi(+) pi(+) pi(-))/B(B(0) -> D(-) pi(+) pi(+) pi(-)) and B(B(s)(0) -> D(s)(-) pi(+))/B(B(0)-> D(-) pi(+))

open access: yes, 2007
Using 355 pb(-1) of data collected by the CDF II detector in p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron, we study the fully reconstructed hadronic decays B((s))(0) -> D((s))(-)pi(+) and B((s))(0) -> D((s))(-) pi(+)pi(+)pi(-).

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

CP-violating observables of four-body $$B_{(s)} \rightarrow (\pi \pi )(K\bar{K})$$ B ( s ) → ( π π ) ( K K ¯ ) decays in perturbative QCD

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
In this work, we investigate six helicity amplitudes of the four-body $$B_{(s)} \rightarrow (\pi \pi )(K\bar{K})$$ B ( s ) → ( π π ) ( K K ¯ ) decays via an angular analysis in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach.
