Corrigendum to “Symplectic and orthogonal $K$-groups of the integers”

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
The action of the duality functor on the odd torsion of $K_n(\mathbb{Z})$ was stated incorrectly in [3], in half of the cases, and lead to incorrect formulas for the odd primary torsion of $\pi _nB\mathrm{Sp}(\mathbb{Z})^+$ and $\pi _nBO_{\infty ,\infty }

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Hepatic decompensation is accelerated in patients with cirrhosis and alpha-1 antitrypsin Pi∗MZ genotype

open access: yesJHEP Reports, 2022
Background & Aims: Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency is caused by mutations in SERPINA1, most commonly homozygosity for the Pi∗Z variant, and can present as liver disease.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Prevalence of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Alleles in a Lithuanian Cohort of Wheezing Small Children

open access: yesAdvances in Respiratory Medicine
Severe inherited alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) is an autosomal genetic condition linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The significance of heterozygous, milder deficiency variants (PiSZ, PiMZ, PiMS) is less clear.

Зростання канонічних добутків Вейєрштрасса нульового роду з випадковими нулями

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2013

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Correlation between fetal-placental doppler indices and maternal cardiac function in pregnant women with late-Onset preeclampsia or fetal growth restriction

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth
Background Fetal growth restriction (FGR) and late-onset preeclampsia (late-onset PE) reflect placental dysfunction but exhibit distinct maternal hemodynamics within the “maternal cardiovascular-placental-fetal unit”.
