Disarming PI(4,5)P2 in the plasma membrane

Nature Plants, 2021
Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2) is involved in lipid-mediated intracellular signalling and the regulation of events such as cytoskeletal reorganization and membrane trafficking. An inducible PI(4,5)P2 depletion system is now available for examining its function in plant cells.

PI(4,5)P2 and Cholesterol: Synthesis, Regulation, and Functions

2023
Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2) is the most abundant membrane phosphoinositide and cholesterol is an essential component of the plasma membrane (PM). Both lipids play key roles in a variety of cellular functions including as signaling molecules and major regulators of protein function.

The PI(3,5)P2 and PI(4,5)P2 Interactomes

Journal of Proteome Research, 2008
A comprehensive analysis of the phosphoinositide interactome has been performed using analogues of PI(3,5)P2 and PI(4,5)P2 phosphatidyl phospholipids which were immobilized onto Affi-10 beads or incorporated into liposomes for use as affinity absorbents with cytosolic extracts from colonic carcinoma cell lines.
