Stability Analysis Using Fractional-Order PI Controller in a Time-Delayed Single-Area Load Frequency Control System with Demand Response

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2023
The current study investigates the stability analysis based on gain and phase margin (GPM) using fractional-order proportional-integral (FOPI) controller in a time-delayed single-area load frequency control (LFC) system with demand response (DR).

Synchronized cell balancing charging of supercapacitors using PI control

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
This paper covers the synchronized cell balancing charging of supercapacitors using pi control. The main objective of this project is to design a balanced circuit for supercapacitor and balance the voltage for each supercapacitor in series using pi ...

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Electronic Control of Spin Alignment in pi-Conjugated Molecular Magnets

open access: yes, 2003
Intramolecular spin alignment in pi-conjugated molecules is studied theoretically in a model of a Peierls-Hubbard chain coupled with two localized spins. By means of the exact diagonalization technique, we demonstrate that a spin singlet (S=0) to quartet

In-Silico Proportional-Integral Moment Control of Stochastic Gene Expression

open access: yes, 2020
The problem of controlling the mean and the variance of a species of interest in a simple gene expression is addressed. It is shown that the protein mean level can be globally and robustly tracked to any desired value using a simple PI controller that ...

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Adaptive fuzzy PI controller with shifted control singletons

open access: yesExpert Systems with Applications, 2016
Abstract It is well known the fact that the design of a fuzzy control system is based on the human expert experience and control engineer knowledge regarding the controlled plant behavior. As a direct consequence, a fuzzy control system can be considered as belonging to the class of intelligent expert systems.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Spatial association of Aedes aegypti with dengue fever hotspots in an endemic region

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
Background and objective: Dengue is a vector-borne viral disease usually transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. Around the world, the relationship between local vector density and frequency of dengue cases is being explored and needs further evidence.
