Preparation of Pichia pastoris Expression Plasmids [PDF]
When planning any heterologous expression experiment, the very first critical step is related to the design of the overall strategy, hence to the selection of the most adapted expression vector. The very flexible Pichia pastoris system offers a broad range of possibilities for the production of secreted, endogenous or membrane proteins thanks to a ...

Overexpression of alcohol oxidase in Pichia pastoris [PDF]
The protein import capacity of peroxisomes in methylotrophic yeasts was studied using Pichia pastoris containing one or two extra copies of the gene encoding the peroxisomal protein alcohol oxidase. The alcohol oxidase overproduced in this strain was only partially imported and assembled into the active, octameric form of the protein.

Asking the 5 W's for designing next‐generation bioprocessing
Abstract Biotechnology is expanding beyond traditional, centralized fermentation and toward next‐generation bioprocessing paradigms that emphasize flexible deployment outside the laboratory with application‐specific performance. However, many bioprocesses fail to translate beyond proof‐of‐concept into industrially viable systems because early design ...
