X-Ray structure and cytotoxic activity of a picolinate ruthenium(II)–arene complex [PDF]
A ruthenium(II)–arene complex with picolinic acid, [(η6-p-cymene)RuCl(pico)]∙H2O, was prepared by the reaction of [(η6-p-cymene)RuCl2]2 with picolinic acid in a 1:2 molar ratio in 2-propanol.

Detection of Purine Metabolite Uric Acid with Picolinic-Acid-Functionalized Metal–Organic Frameworks
Uric acid (UA) is a purine metabolite closely related to the metabolic function of human. Fluorescence analysis is a very effective method because of its high selectivity and sensitivity, but it still remains a great challenge for direct UA detection. In

Ratiometric Mycotoxin Detection in Living Plants With Dual‐Emissive Nanosensors
A minimally invasive microneedle patch integrates carbon dot‐embedded metal–organic frameworks as nanosensors to detect a key fungal toxin in living plants. The nanosensor produces a ratiometric fluorescence signal that enables early, non‐destructive diagnosis of fungal infection before visible symptoms, offering a new biomaterials‐based strategy for ...

Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

Inhibition of mycobacterial growth in vitro by picolinic acid.
(A) M. tuberculosis was grown in 7H9 liquid medium in the presence of picolinic acid (100 - 1000 µM). Optical density of cultures was measured. Data are the mean +/− SD of four independent wells per condition and are representative of 2–4 independent ...

Ketogenic diet for infantile epileptic spasms
Abstract Approximately half of all cases of Infantile Epileptic Spasms Syndrome (IESS) do not respond to vigabatrin and hormonal therapies. There is no clear consensus as to the second‐line therapy for IESS. Ketogenic diet (KD) has emerged as an effective treatment for certain drug‐resistant epilepsies and in many cases of IESS.
