Speciation studies of binary and ternary complexes formed with oxidovanadium(IV) ion picolinic acid and some amino acids

open access: yes, 2020
In the present work the chemical speciation of ternary complexes systems formed by VO2+ ion with picolinic acid and the amino acids = α-alanine (HαAla), glycine (HGly), serine (HSer), threonine (HThr), aspartic acid (H2Asp), glutamic acid (H2Glu ...

Zn(OTf)2‐Catalyzed Dehydrocoupling of Terminal Alkynes with Diisopropylaminoborane: A Modular Route to Mono‐ and Dialkynylboranes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 10, 19 May 2026.
We report a Zn(OTf)2‐catalyzed dehydrocoupling of terminal alkynes with diisopropylaminoborane (DIPOB), which enables the selective synthesis of mono‐ and dialkynylboranes under mild conditions. This method provides a versatile platform for accessing stable tetracoordinate alkynylborons while effectively suppressing hydroboration side reactions.

Highly sensitive analysis of sterol profiles in human serum by LC-ESI-MS/MSs⃞

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2008
We have developed a highly sensitive and specific method for the analysis of serum sterol profiles. Sterols in 1 μl of dried serum were derivatized into picolinyl esters (3β-picolinate) and analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC ...

A Distinct Tryptophan Metabolic Phenotype Marks Severe Fatigue in Quiescent Crohn's Disease

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is a common and debilitating symptom in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Altered tryptophan metabolism may contribute to fatigue. Tryptophan is metabolized through the kynurenine, serotonin, and indole pathway, involving host and microbial processes. We aimed to explore the link

Why Osteosarcopenia Matters: Clinical and Investigative Implications

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 5, May 2026.
Osteosarcopenia: Non‐pharmacological and pharmacological treatment strategies. ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcopenia, the combination of osteoporosis and sarcopenia, is a geriatric syndrome linked to functional decline, falls, and fragility fractures. The interaction among bone, muscle, and their shared pathophysiology is driven by mechanical, metabolic,

Terahertz spectroscopy and solid-state density functional theory calculations of structural isomers: Nicotinic acid, isonicotinic acid and 2-picolinic acid

open access: yes, 2017
We report, for the first time to our knowledge, the terahertz (THz) spectra of isonicotinic acid and 2-picolinic acid. The distinct THz spectral differences among these two isomers and nicotinic acid have also been observed, indicating that the THz ...

Enhancing Lipidomics With High‐Resolution Ion Mobility‐Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 26, Issue 4, Page 7-22, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Lipids, indispensable yet structurally intricate biomolecules, serve as critical regulators of cellular function and disease progression. Conventional lipidomics, constrained by limited resolution for isomeric and low‐abundance species, has been transformed by ion mobility‐mass spectrometry (IM‐MS).

Diaquabis(picolinato N-oxide-κ2O,O′)zinc(II)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2008
In the title compound, [Zn(C6H4NO3)2(H2O)2], the Zn atom is located on a centre of inversion and shows a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Two aqua ligands occupy the axial positions and four O atoms of the two chelating picolinic acid N-oxide ...
