Sixty years after the introduction of dental implants, it is clear that soft‐tissue integration is as essential as osseointegration. This review outlines how peri‐implant soft tissues develop, protect, and sometimes fail, revealing key knowledge gaps and new opportunities to improve long‐term implant stability.

Abstract Orthotopic allograft transplantation (OAT) is a significant approach to addressing organ failure. However, persistent immune responses to the allograft affect chronic rejection, which induces OAT vasculopathy (OATV) and organ failure. Porphyromonas gingivalis can infiltrate remote organs via the bloodstream, thereby intensifying the severity ...

Background: Odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) and orthokeratinized odontogenic cyst (OOC) show considerable difference in biological behavior, and the study of the organization of collagen fibers may be helpful in understanding the nature of these variants ...

Histological image quantification of picrosirius red stained skeletal muscle sections v1
Picrosirius Red (PSR) staining of skeletal muscle tissue sections permits histological evaluation of muscle fibrosis: muscle fibres are stained a vivid picric acid yellow, while connective tissue is stained a vibrant Sirius red. Connective tissue can also be visualised via brightfield, fluorescence or polarized light microscopy, but no standard ...

Abstract Infection is a known cause of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), and matrix metalloproteases‐2 (MMP‐2) secreted by vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs) plays a key role in the structural disruption of the middle layer of the arteries during AAA progression.

The study evaluated different treatments for calcaneal tendinopathy in rats, focusing on the gastrocnemius muscle. Photobiomodulation (PBM), advanced platelet‐rich fibrin (A‐PRF), and their combination were tested. Treated animals showed improved muscle strength between 7 and 21 days, but without significant recovery of muscle fibers.

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) was evaluated across a radiant energy range (1–7.5 J) in a murine model of chronic ovalbumin‐induced asthma to identify the optimal therapeutic dose. PBMT attenuated airway inflammation and remodelling, suppressed Th2 cytokines, and enhanced regulatory immune responses, highlighting a dose‐dependent immunomodulatory ...

Abstract Previous studies have demonstrated that mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) activity is significantly increased in the kidneys of Dahl salt‐sensitive (SS) rats during the development of renal injury. Therefore, in the present study we examined whether blockade of mTOR with rapamycin inhibits renal injury in Dahl salt‐sensitive leptin receptor
