Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

Galvanometer mirror systems are a fundamental tool used in many research fields to deploy curves over virtually any surface. Even though the point-based methodology is the current standard used to achieve this task, it has the shortcoming of using a ...

This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Analysis of Non-Monotonic Piecewise Lyapunov Stability and Semi-PID Design for MIMO Piecewise Affine Systems [PDF]
In this study, we introduce the Non-monotonic Lyapunov (NML) approach, aimed at stability examining and designing stabilizable controller for a specific category of discrete piecewise affine dynamical systems.

A cut finite element method for coupled bulk-surface problems on time-dependent domains
In this contribution we present a new computational method for coupled bulk-surface problems on time-dependent domains. The method is based on a space-time formulation using discontinuous piecewise linear elements in time and continuous piecewise linear ...

This study presents the de novo design and directed evolution of a mirror‐image D‐protein inhibitor targeting human interleukin‐4 (IL‐4). The engineered molecule exhibits nanomolar binding affinity for IL‐4 and effectively inhibits IL‐4–mediated signaling.

In this paper, the H∞ piecewise control problem is discussed for linear parabolic distributed parameter systems (DPSs) with piecewise observation in space. An H∞ performance constraint is provided in this paper to solve the effect caused by

Linearizing and Forecasting: A Reservoir Computing Route to Digital Twins of the Brain
A new approach uses simple neural networks to create digital twins of brain activity, capturing how different patterns unfold over time. The method generates and recovers key dynamics even from noisy data. When applied to fMRI, it predicts brain signals and reveals distinctive activity patterns across regions and individuals, opening possibilities for ...

Algebraic Limit Cycles in Piecewise Linear Differential Systems [PDF]
This paper is devoted to study the algebraic limit cycles of planar piecewise linear differential systems. In particular, we present examples exhibiting two explicit hyperbolic algebraic limit cycles, as well as some one-parameter families with a saddle-node bifurcation of algebraic limit cycles.
