New Twists in the Chemistry of Thioureas: 1,3‐Thiazolidines as a Vector of Sustainability
A new sustainable method for synthesizing 1,3‐N,S‐heterocycles, including 1,3‐thiazolidine‐2‐imines and 4,5‐dihydrothiazol‐2‐amines is reported. This innovative approach offers considerable shorter reaction times with higher yields, reduced energy consumption, and the elimination of hazardous chemicals.

Abstract Background and Purpose The canonical Kir6.2/SUR2A ventricular KATP channel is highly ATP‐sensitive and remains closed under normal physiological conditions. These channels activate only when prolonged metabolic compromise causes significant ATP depletion and then shortens the action potential to reduce contractile activity.

Effects of Pioglitazone Hydrochloride on Japanese Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
The effects of pioglitazone hydrochloride monotherapy on abnormal lipid control were evaluated in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, comparing with glibenclamide monotherapy.Patients were randomly assigned to receive, once daily, pioglitazone hydrochloride, at 15 mg or 30 mg (n=46), or glibenclamide, at 1.25 mg or 2.5 mg (n=46).

The effect of Curcuma longa (Cl) on inhaled paraquat (PQ)‐induced lung injury was examined. CI and pioglitazone ameliorated lung injury induced by inhaled PQ. CI improved lung inflammation similar to dexamethasone. Synergic effect of pioglitazone and CI was shown.
