Plant science and agricultural productivity: Why are we hitting the yield ceiling?
Plant Science, 2013Trends in conventional plant breeding and in biotechnology research are analyzed with a focus on production and productivity of individual organisms. Our growing understanding of the productive/adaptive potential of (crop) plants is a prerequisite to increasing this potential and also its expression under environmental constraints.

Following a request from the European Food Safety Authority, the Panel on Plant Protection Products and their Residues developed an opinion on the science to support the development of a risk assessment scheme of plant (crop) protection products on non-target terrestrial plants (NTTPs). This scientific opinion is largely a literature review on the most

Pilot plant production of black chrome in Thailand: from science to technology
Solar Energy Materials, 1990Abstract An effort to transfer the technology of black chrome selective surfaces from the laboratories in industrial countries to a developing country has been carried out at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Thonburi, Thailand. The first phase of the study is aimed at reproducing the findings obtained previously on the laboratory scale by ...

Sustainable manufacturing is of increasing interest to a large number of batch production facilities. Energy efficiencies achieved through optimized scheduling is a desired target for such facilities. To achieve these energy efficiencies, the initial step is accurately modelling plant energy profiles from historical production schedule data. This poses

IN many countries, up to the War period, the career of agricultural research was one of struggle and piecemeal growth. Exceptions were to be found in the steady evolution of research institutes in some European countries; the United States had inaugurated a wide organisation; and in India an interesting feature was the establishment of certain ‘central’
