Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Carbon Isotope Ratio Fractionation among Plant Tissues of Soybean
Carbon isotope ratio (δC) has been used as a proxy for water use efficiency (WUE) in several crops. We compared δC of soybean [ (L.) Merr.] tissues sampled at bloom with δC of mature seed (MS).

Endophytic Fungi of Bitter Melon \u3ci\u3e(Momordica Charantia)\u3c/i\u3e in Guangdong Province, China [PDF]
Endophytic fungi can mutualistically interact with their host plants by deterring herbivores. Overall 1172 endophytic fungal isolates were recovered from roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruits of bitter melon, Momordica charantia, at five sites in ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Tissue culture is the propagation of plants through "cloning," an asexual method. The process consists of growing a portion of the original plant in vitro (an artificial environ ment), promoting its multiplication, and then transferring it to potting medium in a greenhouse environment. Tissue culture is based on the concept of totipotency, which is the

Plant Vascular Tissues—Connecting Tissue Comes in All Shapes
For centuries, humans have grown and used structures based on vascular tissues in plants. One could imagine that life would have developed differently without wood as a resource for building material, paper, heating energy, or fuel and without edible ...
