Highly Potent Fluorogenic Ligands for Triplex DNA: 5‐Substituted 2‐(Naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐Chromen‐4‐Ones

Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
5‐Substituted 2‐(naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐chromen‐4‐ones are reported as a novel class of highly potent and selective triplex DNA ligands. These ligands induce triplex formation at submicromolar concentrations and inhibit enzymatic activity via ligand‐mediated triplex formation.

PEK14: A Kinesin‐4 Necessary for Male‐Derived Fertility in Arabidopsis thaliana

ABSTRACT Of the 61 kinesins annotated in Arabidopsis thaliana, many are still without assigned function. Here, we have screened an insertional mutant library of Arabidopsis pollen‐expressed kinesins for fertility defects. Insertional mutants for three kinesins showed a significant reduction in seed set.

ABSTRACT Plant cells create a plasma membrane‐associated network of microtubules that are nucleated by γ‐tubulin ring complexes primarily through microtubule‐dependent microtubule nucleation (MDMN). This dynamic array organizes into specific patterns in response to developmental and environmental cues to influence primary cell wall construction.
