Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Lipooligosaccharide Ligands from Respiratory Bacterial Pathogens Enhance Cellular Uptake of Nanoparticles

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal, 2023
Several bacterial pathogens contain membrane ligands that facilitate their binding and internalization into human tissues. In this study, lipooligosaccharides (LOS) from the respiratory pathogen non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae (NTHi) were isolated ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

CAR-T therapy alters synthesis of platelet-activating factor in multiple myeloma patients

open access: yesJournal of Hematology & Oncology, 2021
The chimera antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy is a novel and potential targeted therapy and has achieved satisfactory efficacy in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (MM) in recent years. However, cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and

Parmodulins Inhibit Thrombus Formation Without Inducing Endothelial Injury Caused by Vorapaxar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Protease-activated receptor-1 (PAR1) couples the coagulation cascade to platelet activation during myocardial infarction and to endothelial inflammation during sepsis. This receptor demonstrates marked signaling bias.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Peripheral versus central venous blood sampling does not influence the assessment of platelet activation in cirrhosis

open access: yesPlatelets, 2022
Cirrhotic patients have an increased risk of bleeding and thromboembolic events, with platelets being involved as key players in both situations. The impact of peripheral versus central blood sampling on platelet activation remains unclear.

Organization of Porcine Platelet‐Activating Factor Receptor Gene

open access: yesAnimal Biotechnology, 2003
Four exons of porcine platelet-activating factor receptor (PAFr) gene expressing transcript 1 and transcript 2 were determined previously. In this study, we cloned and sequenced a new exon, which also initiates transcript 2, and determined the order of 5 exons in the PAFr gene.
