Evaluation of platelet function in thrombocytopenia
Whole blood aggregometry is a functional assay for determination of platelet function. Until now, whole blood aggregometry has not been considered feasible at low platelet counts.

The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) microparticles with long‐term and thermal stability are prepared with or without collagen using a scalable one‐pot spray‐drying process. Under simulated physiological conditions, they crystallize into biomimetic bone mineral and, when combined with collagen, form extrudable, fibrillar bone‐like 3D constructs.

Platelet function in disseminated intravascular coagulation: A systematic review
Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) has a well-examined pathophysiology, yet some essential elements remain undetermined. During DIC, platelets play an important role in the development of micro thrombosis, but changes in platelet function ...
