Disposition of anagrelide, an inhibitor of platelet aggregation
Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1981A single dose of 14C-anagrelide (6,7-dichloro-1,5-dihydroimidazo [2,1-b] quinazoline-2(3H)-one monohydrochloride) equivalent to 1 mg free base and containing 100 muCi radioactivity, was taken by five healthy, fasting men. Blood, plasma, urine, and feces were analyzed for total radioactivity. Plasma and urine concentrations of anagrelide were determined,

20-Methylprostacyclin a powerful ‘unnatural’ platelet aggregation inhibitor
Prostaglandins, 1978Abstract 20-Methyl (ω-homo) prostacyclin was prepared. Its inhibiting property on ADP-induced aggregation of rat blood platelets was 2–3 times that of the natural prostacyclin.

Chapter 7. Platelet Aggregation Inhibitors
1971Publisher Summary This chapter presents an overview of the platelet aggregation inhibitors. The therapeutic approach to thromboembolic disease is based on the inhibition of platelet aggregation. The use of fibrinolytic agents for the dissolution of thrombi and the prophylactic use of anticoagulants for their prevention has been known for some time ...

Cardamom extract as inhibitor of human platelet aggregation
Phytotherapy Research, 2005The inhibitory activity of cardamom extract was studied on human platelets. Platelet aggregation and lipid peroxidation were evaluated with platelet rich plasma (PRP) and platelet membranes, respectively, obtained from blood of healthy volunteers.

Ticlopidine: a new platelet aggregation inhibitor.
Clinical pharmacy, 1992The chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, clinical efficacy, adverse effects, and dosage of ticlopidine are reviewed. Ticlopidine appears to inhibit platelet aggregation induced by adenosine diphosphate. Ticlopidine hydrochloride is rapidly absorbed after oral administration, and maximum antiplatelet effects occur one to three hours after the dose.

[Platelet aggregation inhibitors in diabetes mellitus].
Acta medica Austriaca, 2001Major cardiovascular complications and ischemic events occur more frequently in diabetic than nondiabetic patients. Platelets of diabetic patients are found in a permanent prethrombotic state. Platelet activation and aggregation with resultant arterial thrombus formation, are the central mechanisms in the pathophysiology of acute coronary syndromes ...

[Disintegrins: potent inhibitors of platelet aggregation].
Recenti progressi in medicina, 1995Disintegrins are a family of highly homologous polypeptides purified from snake venoms, which contain the arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) sequence. The RGD tripeptide acts as an integrin recognition sequence; it is also present on several proteins involved in cell adhesion such as fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, and collagen ...
