What is the role of Von Willebrand factor in chronic hepatitis B virus infection to hepatocellular carcinoma: a review article

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Chronic Disease, 2022
Von Willebrand factor (VWF) is a glycoprotein synthesized and secreted by vascular endothelial cells and megakaryocytes, found on plasma surface, endothelial cells, and α-granule of platelets.

Exercise-Derived Microvesicles: A Review of the Literature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Initially suggested as simple cell debris, cell-derived microvesicles (MVs) have now gained acceptance as recognized players in cellular communication and physiology.

Significant correlation of angiotensin converting enzyme and glycoprotein IIIa genes polymorphisms with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss in north of Iran [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Spontaneous abortion is considered as the most complex problem during pregnancy. Thrombophilia is resumed as a cause of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). Glycoprotein IIIa (GPIIIa) gene is involved in thrombosis and abortion.

Regulation of platelet membrane protein shedding in health and disease

open access: yesPlatelets, 2017
Extracellular proteolysis of platelet plasma membrane proteins is an event that ensues platelet activation. Shedding of surface receptors such as glycoprotein (GP) Ibα, GPV and GPVI as well as externalized proteins P-selectin and CD40L releases soluble ...

Association between fibrinogen receptor (Glycoprotein IIb) polymorphism and the risk of venous thromboembolism: a systematic review

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Medical Human Genetics, 2019
Background The fibrinogen receptor is an integrin on the platelet surface and is shaped from two types of glycoprotein (GP) subunits, GPIIb and GPIIIa. Membrane glycoprotein IIb/IIIa plays an important role in platelet function.

Mechanisms of the antiplatelet and analgesic effects of dextromethorphan and its metabolites

open access: yesTzu Chi Medical Journal, 2020
Objective: In the present study, we investigated the effects of dextromethorphan (DM) and its metabolites, including dextrorphan (LK2), 3-methoxymorphinan (LK3), and 3-hydroxymorphinan (LK4), on platelet aggregationin vitro and the inflammatory pain ...

An agent-based approach for modelling and simulation of glycoprotein VI receptor diffusion, localisation and dimerisation in platelet lipid rafts

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Receptor diffusion plays an essential role in cellular signalling via the plasma membrane microenvironment and receptor interactions, but the regulation is not well understood.

A platelet alpha-granule membrane protein (GMP-140) is expressed on the plasma membrane after activation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
We have previously characterized a monoclonal antibody, S12, that binds only to activated platelets (McEver, R.P., and M.N. Martin, 1984, J. Biol. Chem., 259:9799-9804). It identifies a platelet membrane protein of Mr 140,000, which we have designated as

Integrated dataset on acute phase protein response in chicken challenged with Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide endotoxin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Data herein describe the quantitative changes in the plasma proteome in chickens challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a bacterial endotoxin known to stimulate the host innate immune system obtained by shotgun quantitative proteomic tandem mass tags ...

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.
