Straightforward Preparation of Polyurethane‐Based Biomaterials with Dual Antibacterial and Anti‐Adhesive Properties for Long‐Lasting Catheter Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study presents the elaboration of antibacterial, antiadhesive, and antibiofilm polyurethane by a straightforward process based on the co‐extrusion of 2 wt.% of both antibacterial and antiadhesive copolymer. The material proves to be active even after pre‐exposition to biological media and prevents E. coli biofilm formation without toxicity.

Centrifugation Theory Revisited: Understanding and Modeling the Centrifugation of 2D Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Colloidal dispersions of nanomaterials are often size‐selected by centrifugation, for anisotropic particle shapes in trial and error. This paper describes the derivation of an equation of motion for 2D objects. The model is validated using different nanosheets produced from liquid phase exfoliation and can be used to predict the average nanosheet sizes

Polypyrrole‐Decorated 2D Zn BioMOFs for Enhanced Supercapacitor Electrodes and Antibacterial Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A facile approach to produce 2D Zn bioMOFs using azelaic acid as the organic linker. Zn‐Aza/Ppy electrode shows high specific capacitance and excellent cycling stability. Polypyrrole decoration enhances the antibacterial activity of bioMOF Zn‐Aza. Zn‐Aza/Ppy is promising for supercapacitors in wearable and biomedical applications.
