FAK activity sustains intrinsic and acquired ovarian cancer resistance to platinum chemotherapy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Gene copy number alterations, tumor cell stemness, and the development of platinum chemotherapy resistance contribute to high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) recurrence.

Current study concepts for refractory ovarian carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Second-line and recurrence therapy in advanced ovarian carcinoma is at present based more on clinical empiricism than on data from prospective comparative studies.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Coupling of the coagulation/flocculation and the anodic oxidation processes for the treatment of textile wastewater

open access: yesAqua, 2021
The increased demand for textile products leads to an increase in the quantity of wastewater discharged. It becomes indeed one of the most critical health and environmental problems in the world.

Tumor clusters with divergent inflammation and human retroelement expression determine the clinical outcome of patients with serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Analysis of treatment‐naïve high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) and control tissues for ERVs, LINE‐1 (L1), inflammation, and immune checkpoints identified five clusters with diverse patient recurrence‐free survivals. An inflammation score was calculated and correlated with retroelement expression, where one novel cluster (Triple‐I) with high ...

Correction to: Synthesis and Characterization of Nanoscale Tungsten Particles with Hollow Superstructure Using Spray Drying Combined with Calcination Process

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2019
In the article [1], the use of the formula (NH4)6W7O24·6H2O to represent the starting material ammonium paratungstate (APT) is outdated and incorrect.

Microscaled and nanoscaled platinum sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We show small and robust platinum resistive heaters and thermometers that are defined by microlithography on silicon substrates. These devices can be used for a wide range of applications, including thermal sensor arrays, programmable thermal sources ...

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

Synthesis and Characterization of Nanoscale Tungsten Particles with Hollow Superstructure Using Spray Drying Combined with Calcination Process

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2019
Nanoscale tungsten (W) powder is used in some special materials. In this study, a hollow superstructure W powder consisting of nanoparticles was synthesized by spray drying combined with two-step calcination from commercial (NH4)6W7O24·6H2O.
