Plukenetia volubilis L.: A New Record of a Cultivated Alien Species in Java

open access: yes
Plukenetia volubilis L. has been documented as a new record for the first time in Java, Indonesia. The species is easily distinguished from the native species, P. corniculata Sm., by its exstipellate basilaminar-glands, long cylindrical column, and wingless fruit-lobes.

Chemical Characterization of Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis L.) Oil

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2011
A chemical characterization of the major components, namely, triacylglycerols (TAGs), polyphenols, and tocopherols in a Sacha inchi oil derived from cold pressing of the seed, is hereby reported. To tackle such a task, high-performance liquid chromatography in combination with photodiode array (PDA), fluorescence (RF), and mass spectrometry (MS ...

Solubilization, Fractionation, and Electrophoretic Characterization of Inca Peanut (Plukenetia volubilis L.) Proteins

Plant Foods for Human Nutrition, 2012
Effects of different solvents, ionic strength, and pH on Inca peanut seed protein solubility were assessed by quantitatively analyzing solubilized proteins using Lowry and Bradford methods. Soluble proteins were fractionated using Osborne procedure and the polypeptide composition of solubilized proteins was determined by one dimensional 25 % monomer ...

Study of biodiesel from Sacha inchi oil (Plukenetia volubilis Linneo)

2021
Sacha inchi oil (Plukenetia Volúbilis Linneo) is a vegetable oil that has aroused great interest in the production of Biodiesel because its low crystallization temperature due to the high PUFA content. Taking in to account the mentioned above, in this work, analysis of biofuel production from Sacha inchi oil was carried out.
